God wills it. In 1095, Pope Urban II called the men of Christendom to arms for the sake of something worth everything. When he finished speaking, the crowd answered with three words: Deus vult! The First Crusade began in that moment.

We are not going to war with enemies of the Church or of our nations. Rather, we are going to war with an enemy much nearer to us. The life God is asking you to live is not a comfortable one — and it will require something from you.

Deus Vult is nine months of prayer built around one question: Who is Jesus asking me to become?

Across a series of weeks, you will learn to pray the way St. Ignatius of Loyola taught soldiers and saints to pray — not reciting words, but, with Jesus, entering and experiencing the events of his life. You will stand on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. You will be in the Garden of Gethsemane. You will watch the Crucifixion.

Along with the other men doing this alongside you, you will learn to hear Jesus, to speak to him, and to interpret what he is saying to you.

Based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, through Deus Vult, you will experience a sustained, serious encounter with the person of Christ — built for men who are willing to show up, do the work, and answer the question.

Deus vult. God wills it.

The only question is whether you do.
